381+Dr. Jamila Jorden completed a general practice PGY-1 at the Robert
382+Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
383+After her residency year was completed, Dr. Jorden worked in a variety
384+of different areas of pharmaceutical care and practice, including
385+working as a clinical-staff pharmacist in a hospital setting and a
386+managed care pharmacist.
387+During her career, Dr. Jorden developed a passion for working with
388+pharmacy students and pharmacists just starting off in their careers.
389+This passion stemmed from Dr. Jorden precepting not only Introductory
390+Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) and Advanced Pharmacy Practice
391+Experience (APPE) students who completed an experience at her practice site but also Foundations
392+of Managed Care Pharmacy Pfizer/summer interns.
393+Additionally, Dr. Jorden was the residency program director, for over 10 years, for the ASHP
394+accredited PGY-1 managed care program at PerformRx. Dr. Jorden decided to return to her alma
395+mater as an Assistant Professor and the Assistant Director of Experiential Programs at Howard
396+University College of Pharmacy. Since then, Dr. Jorden expanded her role at Howard University
397+to become the Director of Experiential Program for the College of Pharmacy. In her role, she is
398+responsible for the practical experience component of the pharmacy curriculum. In addition to her
399+work with the College of Pharmacy, Dr. Jorden is also a member of the Washington DC Pharmacy
400+Association, the Washington Metropolitan Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (as a past Board
401+Member), the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy (recently served as a member of the
402+Legislative and Regulatory Action Committee), the American Pharmacists Association, the
403+American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, and various civic organizations. Recently, Dr.
404+Jorden was elected as the chair elect for the Experiential Education section of the American
405+Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP).
406+A Ward 5 resident, Dr. Jorden earned her Master of Business Administration from Drexel
