441441 Ms. Kelly Crawford is the Senior Policy Advisor for Energy Equity and
442442 Environmental Justice at the U.S. Department of Energy’s (“DOE”)
443443 Office of Economic Impact and Diversity and serves as DOE's Senior
444444 Environmental Justice representative on the White House
445445 Environmental Justice Interagency Council. Ms. Crawford is an award-
446446 winning subject matter expert with more than a decade of technical
447447 experience in environmental science and engineering, energy policy,
448448 climate change, emergency management and response, and
449449 environmental justice and equity and is a current member of the Racial
450450 Equity Advisory Board.
451451 A native Washingtonian, Ms. Crawford has been at the forefront of developing innovative
452452 strategies that promote pollution reduction to mitigate environmental impacts to vulnerable
453453 communities through a comprehensive understanding of regulatory frameworks, coupled with
454454 technical expertise and a firm commitment to inclusive decision-making processes. She previously
455455 served as Senior Advisor for Energy Equity & Environmental Justice for Energy Efficiency and
456456 Renewable Energy and continues to work within DOE to craft policies that not only priorities
457457 environmental protection but also facilitate equitable access to the benefits of clean energy.
458458 Prior to joining DOE, Ms. Crawford served as the State Air pollution control officer for the District
459459 of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment as Associate Director of the Air Quality
460460 Division where she established and led the Department’s inaugural equity committee, developing
461461 and implementing a Racial Equity Framework, a racial equity impact tool, and conducted
462462 Environmental Justice and Racial Equity training within the department.
463463 A Ward 4 resident, Ms. Crawford earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science, Math
464464 and Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and her Master of Science in
