119119 Summary
120120 For more than 20 years, I've worked to provide assistance and
121121 support to underserved and at-risk communities. Working in concert
122122 with partner organizations, federal agencies, and members of the
123123 community themselves, I've served affected communities in the D.C.
124124 area and nationwide.
125125 As a seasoned program manager and analyst, I've led operations
126126 of multiple grant-funded programs to render technical assistance
127127 and crucial capacity-building activities (CBA). Much of my work
128128 has served the LGBTQ community in effecting HIV education,
129129 awareness, and prevention programs. I've also worked with the
130130 Urban Coalition for HIV/AIDS Prevention Services and the National
131131 Organization of Black County Officials to support health-related
132132 objectives and programs.
133133 Rather than attempting to implement solutions from the top-
134134 down, I've learned to think critically about structural obstacles,
135135 find strategies that empower communities, and produce equitable
136136 outcomes across lines of age, gender, race, and sexuality.
137137 Respected for authentic engagement with the community, I offer
138138 the sum of my experience, education, training, and passion to every
139139 organization I serve.
140140 Some of my proudest achievements include:
141141 • Obtained over $250K in sponsorships for community driven
142142 COVID-19 education and Vaccine Access for Black and Brown
143143 Queer, Transgender and Non Gender Conforming communities,
144144 struggling with Vaccine usage.
145145 • Led fundraising efforts leading to over $1.5M In funds to support
146146 services for Black and Brown Queer, Transgender and Non Gender
147147 Conforming persons.
148148 Page 1 of? • Obtained over $250K in sponsorships for community driven
149149 national HIV testing week initiative.
150150 • Built ground-up relationships with community organizations, not-
151151 for-profits, and county health officials to execute health education
152152 and awareness programs.
153153 • Directed DC Black Pride Weekend activities, including the creation
154154 and management of functional teams.
155155 • Boosted youth and community engagement, leading to a $5M
156156 grant funding counseling and support programs.
157157 • Set to graduate with a Master of Public Health from Southern New
158158 Hampshire University in 2021.
