336336 Ms. Catherine Daily is a nurse midwife who lives in Washington DC.
337337 She practices primarily at a federally qualified health center, Mary’s
338338 Center, and as a per diem hospitalist midwife in Virginia. Her role at
339339 Mary’s Center includes primary women’s health and providing prenatal,
340340 postpartum, and family planning services to a diverse, majority Spanish-
341341 speaking population. She is the clinical lead for the Healthy Start home
342342 visiting program where she trains staff and reviews cases. She is adjunct
343343 faculty at Georgetown in the WHNP/CNM program, teaching courses in
344344 complex pregnancies and intrapartum care as well as on campus skills
345345 trainings.
346346 Ms. Daily spent several years working in international health policy before joining AmeriCorps
347347 and shifting gears to direct health and social services. She provided doula birth services and trained
348348 community birth doulas and student nurses in doula skills at Johns Hopkins University. She joined
349349 the George Washington University Medical Faculty Associates for a yearlong midwifery
350350 fellowship, then joined the team at Mary’s Center. She has spent her entire professional life
351351 learning and working in the DC metro area.
352352 Ms. Daily completed a nurse leadership fellowship training program with Duke University to
353353 prepare to implement innovative projects in clinical care settings. She served on the board of the
354354 DC Chapter of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
355355 Ms. Daily is pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice at Georgetown University to expand her
356356 role teaching the next generation of midwives and nurse practitioners, incorporating the model of
357357 social change and concepts of health equity into teaching.
358358 A Ward 1 resident, Ms. Daily earned her Bachelor of Arts in Spanish International Studies from
359359 American University, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University, and her
