248248 Dr. Constance Bohon is an obstetrician-gynecologist who has been in
249249 private practice in Washington, DC since 1982. Dr. Bohon c urrently
250250 serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics
251251 and Gynecology at the George Washington School of Medicine and
252252 Health Sciences. She is also an attending in the Department of
253253 Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sibley Hospital.
254254 Since residency, Dr. Bohon has held many leadership positions and
255255 participated in many committees at the American College of
256256 Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Most recently she was the
257257 Chair of the DC Fellow Section of ACOG. Currently, she serves as the
258258 Legislative Chair for the DC Section and is a member of the National Scientific Program
259259 Committee for ACOG.
260260 Dr. Bohon was instrumental in the organization of the Committee to Improve Obstetrical Care in
261261 DC, which was convened in October 2017 after the closure of the obstetrical units at United
262262 Medical Center and Providence Hospital. This committee is multidisciplinary and includes
263263 representatives from each hospital and birthing center in DC, obstetricians, midwives,
264264 representatives from each of the Medicaid providers in DC (Trusted, Amerigroup and
265265 AmeriHealth), staff from the offices of members of the Council of the District of Columbia , DC
266266 Health, the Department of Healthcare Finance, and the District of Columbia Fire & Emergency
267267 Medical Services Department.
268268 A Maryland resident, Dr. Bohon earned her Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College and
269269 her Doctor of Medicine from George Washington University.
