HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 24
RECOGNIZING APRIL 27TH AS WORLD TRADE CENTER DELAWARE DAY .
WHEREAS, World Trade Center Delaware was founded on April 27, 1987; and WHEREAS, its distinguished work promotes trade and partnerships among Delawares businesses, educational institutions, and government agencies with other countries; and WHEREAS, World Trade Center Delaware is the states premier international business resource; and WHEREAS, World Trade Center Delaware helps the States companies to expand their business leading to increased revenue, profitability, and numbers of employees; and WHEREAS, World Trade Center Delaware has been designated by the International Trade Administration as its Strategic Partner; and WHEREAS, the Export-Import Bank of the United States named World Trade Center Delaware as REPP Member of the Year 2023; and WHEREAS, World Trade Center Delaware provides opportunities for any Delaware student to become an international trade expert through its paid internship program; and WHEREAS, during the 150th General Assembly, under House Bill 260, the State Legislature designated World Trade Center Delaware as: a contact for the State regarding international trade matters with the business community; U.S. federal agencies; regional, national and international organizations; and other domestic and international trade organizations worldwide, as well as assist in hosting and coordinating international trade delegations and foreign government officials visiting the State, formalizing the relationship with the State of Delaware and the work that the World Trade Center has conducted over the years. NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED by the House of Representatives of the 152nd General Assembly of the State of Delaware that we hereby recognize April 27 th as World Trade Center Delaware Day.
