Moore, Ramone, Michael Smith DELAWARE STATE SENATE 152nd GENERAL ASSEMBLY SENATE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION NO. 39 RECOGNIZING THURSDAY, APRIL 27, 2023, AS "TAKE OUR DAUGHTERS AND SONS TO WORK DAY" IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE. WHEREAS, the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Foundation established Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day to build diversity in the workplace, raise public awareness of childrens issues, and provide adults with pro-active strategies to help children remain resilient, especially in the world of work; and WHEREAS, since 1993, through their leadership, expertise, and collaborations, the Foundation advocates for changes in social policy and public awareness on behalf of children; and WHEREAS, the partnerships and collaborations create work-based learning experiences to help young people better understand the connection between their academics and how they are applied in the real world and, as a result, children are motivated to explore the workplace and apply the experience to everyday studies and activities; and WHEREAS, the experience exposes children to people of different backgrounds, races, and gender pursuing various employment opportunities; and WHEREAS, Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day helps children sustain a positive and healthy self-image, and establish goals and aspirations while overcoming societal barriers in order to reach their full potential. NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 152nd General Assembly of the State of Delaware, the House of Representatives concurring therein, that April 27, 2023, is hereby recognized as Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that on this date, the 152 nd General Assembly joins the Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Foundation in expanding work-based learning experience for Delawares youth.
