 152nd GENERAL ASSEMBLY 

   

 SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 13 

   

 PROCLAIMING MAY 4, 2023 AS "UNTIL JUSTICE JUST IS DAY" IN THE STATE OF DELAWARE. 

   

  WHEREAS, all residents regardless of race, creed, or ethnicity deserve to be treated with dignity, respect, compassion, and justice; and    WHEREAS, Delaware residents value initiatives that will end race-based disparities and make the world a more equitable, inclusive, and dignified place for all; and    WHEREAS, racism is a public health crisis that requires investment in resources including public safety and social support services, safe and affordable housing, access to quality education, and environments free of contamination; and    WHEREAS, the YWCA has created an annual Until Justice Just Is campaign to help build community among those who work for the cause of racial justice and further raise awareness of the negative impacts of institutional and structural racism; and    WHEREAS, the YWCA is recognized for its work to support the Delaware community in its mission to    eliminate racism, empower women, work to achieve social justice, help families, and strengthen communities.    NOW THEREFORE:    BE IT RESOLVED by the Senate of the 152  nd   General Assembly of the State of Delaware that May 4, 2023, is proclaimed Until Justice Just Is Day in Delaware.    BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Senate urges all Delawareans to support the mission of the YWCAs Until Justice Just Is campaign by advocating for and supporting their communities in a meaningful way.
