24	24	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the St ate of Florida: 11

26	26	Section 1. Subsections (1) and (6) of section 471.011, 13
27	27	Florida Statutes, are amended to read: 14
28	28	471.011 Fees.— 15
29	29	(1) The board by rule may establish fees to be paid for 16
30	30	applications, examination, reexamination, licensing and renewal, 17
31	31	inactive status application and reactivation of inactive 18
32	32	licenses, and recordmaking and recordkeeping. The board may also 19
33	33	establish by rule a delinquency fee. The board shall establish 20
34	34	fees that are adequate to ensure the continued operation of the 21
35	35	board. Fees shall be based on department estimates of the 22
36	36	revenue required to implement this chapter and the provisions of 23
37	37	law with respect to the regulation of engineers and professional 24
38	38	structural engineers . 25

51	51	(6) The fee for a temporary registration or certific ate to 26
52	52	practice engineering or professional structural engineering 27
53	53	shall not exceed $25 for an individual or $50 for a business 28
54	54	firm. 29
55	55	Section 2. Paragraph (a) of subsection (3) of section 30
56	56	471.015, Florida Statutes, as amended by HB 375, 2022 Regular 31
57	57	Session, is amended to read: 32
58	58	471.015 Licensure.— 33
59	59	(3)(a) The management corporation shall issue a 34
60	60	professional structural engineer license to any applicant whom 35
61	61	the board certifies as qualified to practice professional 36
62	62	structural engineering and who meets all of the following 37
63	63	requirements: 38
64	64	1. Is licensed under this chapter as an engineer or is 39
65	65	qualified for licensure as an engineer. 40
66	66	2. Submits an application in the format prescribed by the 41
67	67	board. 42
68	68	3. Provides satisfactory evidence of good moral charac ter, 43
69	69	as defined by the board. 44
70	70	4. Provides a record of 4 years of active structural 45
71	71	engineering experience, as defined by the board, under the 46
72	72	supervision of a licensed professional engineer. 47
73	73	5. Has successfully passed the 16 -hour National Council of 48
74	74	Examiners for Engineering and Surveying Structural Engineering 49

88	88	6. Pays a fee established by the board under s. 471.011. 51
89	89	Section 3. This act shall take effect on the same date 52
90	90	that HB 375 or similar legislation takes effect , if such 53
91	91	legislation is adopted in the same legislative session or an 54
92	92	extension thereof and becomes a law. 55
