2828 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 15

3030 Section 1. Subsection (9) is added to section 286.011, 17
3131 Florida Statutes, to read: 18
3232 286.011 Public meetings and records; public inspection; 19
3333 criminal and civil penalties. — 20
3434 (9)(a) Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, 21
3535 resilience-related advisory committees whose membership is 22
3636 composed solely of representatives of four or more counties, 23
3737 when there is at least 200 miles of geographic distance between 24
3838 the county seats of the two most distant counties, may conduct 25

5151 public meetings and workshops by means of communications media 26
5252 technology as defined in s. 120.54(5)(b)2. An advisory committee 27
5353 member who participates in a meeting or workshop by means of 28
5454 communications media technology is deemed to be present at such 29
5555 meeting or workshop. For the purpos e of this paragraph, the 30
5656 communications media technology must allow for all persons 31
5757 attending such public meeting or workshop to audibly 32
5858 communicate, as would be allowed if they were physically 33
5959 present. 34
6060 (b) The notice for such a meeting or workshop must state 35
6161 whether it will be conducted using communications media 36
6262 technology, how an interested person may participate, and the 37
6363 locations of any facilities where communications media 38
6464 technology will be available. 39
6565 (c) Any other laws applicable to public meeti ngs or 40
6666 workshops conducted by means of communications media technology 41
6767 must be liberally construed in their application to meetings and 42
6868 workshops conducted as provided in this subsection. 43
6969 Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. 44
