2828 Section 1. Section 334.066, Florida Statutes, is created 15

3232 (1) The Implementing Solutions from Transportation 19
3333 Research and Evaluating Emerging Technologies Living Lab (I -20
3434 STREET) is established within the University of Florida. 21
3535 (2) At a minimum, I-STREET shall: 22
3636 (a) Conduct and facilitate research on issues related to 23
3737 innovative transportation mobility and safety technology 24
3838 development and deployment in this state and serve as an 25

5151 information exchange and depository for the most current 26
5252 information pertaining to transportation research, education, 27
5353 workforce development, and related issues. 28
5454 (b) Be a continuing resource for the Legislature, the 29
5555 department, local governments, the nation's metropolitan 30
5656 regions, and the private sector in the area of t ransportation 31
5757 and related research. 32
5858 (c) Promote intercampus transportation and related 33
5959 research activities among Florida universities to enhance the 34
6060 ability of these universities to attract federal and private 35
6161 sector funding for transportation and relate d research. 36
6262 (d) Provide by July 1, 2023, and each July 1 thereafter, 37
6363 to the Governor, the President of the Senate, and the Speaker of 38
6464 the House of Representatives a comprehensive report that 39
6565 outlines its clearly defined goals and its efforts and progress 40
6666 on reaching those goals. 41
6767 (3) An advisory board shall be created to periodically 42
6868 review and advise I-STREET concerning its research program. The 43
6969 board shall consist of nine members with expertise in 44
7070 transportation-related areas, as follows: 45
7171 (a) A member appointed by the President of the Senate. 46
7272 (b) A member appointed by the Speaker of the House of 47
7373 Representatives. 48
7474 (c) The Secretary of Transportation or his or her 49

9696 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022. 59
