258258 pursuant to chapter 2005 -350, Laws of Florida, was dissolved 177
259259 effective September 30, 2022, following a November 2, 2021, 178
260260 referendum and subsequent legislative special act dissolving 179
261261 such fire district. The Cedar Hammock Fire Control District's 180
262262 existing boundaries surround the unincorporated area of Manatee 181
263263 County formerly serviced by the Trailer Estates Fire Control 182
264264 District. The Cedar Hammock Fire Control District is granted the 183
265265 authority to provide fire control and emergency medical 184
266266 services; levy and collect taxes, assessments, and fees as set 185
267267 forth in chapter 2015 -197, Laws of Florida ; and administer fire 186
268268 rescue programs and services within the district's expanded 187
269269 boundaries as provided herein in accordance wit h chapter 2015-188
270270 197 amended boundary pursuant to chapter 2000 -391, Laws of 189
271271 Florida, chapter 191, Florida Statutes, and applicable laws , 190
272272 provided that a districtwide referendum of the qualified 191
273273 electors in the area proposed to be annexed is held authorizing 192
274274 the Cedar Hammock Fire Control District to provide fire control 193
275275 and emergency medical services; levy and collect taxes, 194
276276 assessments, and fees; and administer fire rescue programs and 195
277277 services within the district's expanded boundaries and as 196
278278 approved by district electors on September 5, 2006 . 197
279279 Section 2. Referendum.—On or before November 8, 2022, the 198
280280 Manatee County Supervisor of Elections shall call and conduct a 199
281281 referendum of those qualified electors in the Cedar Hammock Fire 200

300300 Section 3. This act shall take effect only if HB 1049, 209
301301 dissolving the Trailer Estates Fire Control District, is enacted 210
302302 into law and goes into effect on September 30, 2022, and a 211
303303 majority of those qualified electors within the Cedar Hammock 212
304304 Fire Control District and those qualified electors within the 213
305305 district's expanded boundaries as described in section 1 of this 214
306306 act voting in a referendum held pursuant to this act approve the 215
307307 referendum question in section 2, except that this section and 216
308308 section 2 of this act shall take effect upon becoming a law. 217
