2727 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 14

2929 Section 1. Community Violence Task Force .— 16
3030 (1) The Community Violence Task Force, a task force as 17
3131 defined in s. 20.03(8), Florida Statutes, is created within the 18
3232 Department of Law Enforcement. Except as otherwise provided in 19
3333 this section, the task force shall comply with the requirements 20
3434 of s. 20.052, Florida Statutes. 21
3535 (2)(a) The task force shall consist of 15 members as 22
3636 follows: 23
3737 1. Four members appointed by the Governor, one of whom the 24

6565 (b) Members must be appointed no later than August 1, 40
6666 2022. Members serve at the pleasure of the officer who appointed 41
6767 them, and a vacancy on the task force must b e filled in the same 42
6868 manner as the original appointment. Members of the task force 43
6969 shall serve without compensation but are entitled to 44
7070 reimbursement for per diem and travel expenses pursuant to s. 45
7171 112.061, Florida Statutes. 46
7272 (c) The task force shall meet at the call of the chair at 47
7373 a time and location in this state designated by the chair. The 48
7474 task force may conduct its meetings by teleconference or other 49

8888 (3) The task force shall review system failures and the 51
8989 causes of high crime rates and violence in urban core 52
9090 neighborhoods and communities. In addition, the task force shall 53
9191 develop recommendations for solutions, programs, services, and 54
9292 strategies for improved interagency communication between local 55
9393 and state governmental agencies to help facilitate the reduction 56
9494 of crime and violence in urban core neighborhoods and 57
9595 communities. 58
9696 (4) The Department of Law Enforcement shall provide 59
9797 staffing and administrative assistance to the task force in 60
9898 performing its dutie s. The task force may call upon other state 61
9999 agencies for such professional assistance as may be needed in 62
100100 the discharge of its duties, and such agencies shall provide 63
101101 such assistance in a timely manner. 64
102102 (5) Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, the 65
103103 task force may request and shall be provided with access to any 66
104104 information or records that pertain to crime or violent 67
105105 incidents in this state's urban core neighborhoods and 68
106106 communities. Information or records obtained by the task force 69
107107 which are otherwise exempt or confidential and exempt shall 70
108108 retain such exempt or confidential and exempt status, and the 71
109109 task force may not disclose any such information or records. 72
110110 (6) The task force shall submit a report on its findings 73
111111 and recommendations to the G overnor, the President of the 74
112112 Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives by June 75
