Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8

Section 1. Subsection (7) is added to section 403.9324, 10
Florida Statutes, to read: 11
403.9324 Mangrove protection rule; delegation of mangrove 12
protection to local governments. — 13
(7) The department shall adopt rules for mangrove 14
replanting and restoration. The rules must address significant 15
erosion in areas of critical concern, protect barrier and spoil 16
islands, and assist Everglades restoration and Biscayne Bay 17
revitalization efforts. 18
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2022. 19
