| 20 | 20 | | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9 |

| 22 | 22 | | Section 1. Notwithstanding general law or any rule, 11 |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | ordinance, or other law t o the contrary, 50 units of housing 12 |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | that are affordable, as defined in s. 420.0004, may be 13 |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | constructed for employees of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, 14 |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | as well as essential services personnel, as defined in s. 15 |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | 420.503, without regard to any building pe rmit allocation system 16 |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | provided that: 17 |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | (1) The construction is otherwise consistent with the 18 |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | comprehensive plan; and 19 |
|---|
| 31 | 31 | | (2) The sheriff's office has a hurricane evacuation plan 20 |
|---|
| 32 | 32 | | that requires all occupants required to evacuate to be evacuated 21 |
|---|
| 33 | 33 | | 48 hours in advance of tropical force winds. 22 |
|---|
| 34 | 34 | | Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. 23 |
