1919 WHEREAS, during the Second Session of the 92nd Congress of 6
2020 the United States of America, by a constitutional majority of 7
2121 two-thirds, both houses approved the Equal Rights Amendment, and 8
2222 WHEREAS, on March 22, 1972, this proposed amendment to the 9
2323 Constitution of the United States was sent to the states for 10

2525 WHEREAS, Article V of the United States Constitution 12
2626 authorizes the Legislature of Florida to ratify proposed 13
2727 amendments to the Constitution of the United States, and 14
2828 WHEREAS, the provisions of the 1972 Equal Rights Amendment 15
2929 contained a 7-year period for ratification, a deadline the 16
3030 United States Congress later extended to 1982 after 35 states 17

3232 WHEREAS, on March 17, 2021, the United States House of 19
