House Resolution 1 
A resolution condemning the invasion of Ukraine and 2 
supporting the people of Ukraine. 3 
 4 
 WHEREAS, the state and people of Ukraine have the right to 5 
peace and prosperity free from foreign interference, and 6 
 WHEREAS, on February 24, 2022, the Armed Forces of the 7 
Russian Federation, led by dictator President Vladimir Putin, 8 
launched a premeditated and unwarranted full -scale assault on 9 
Ukrainian territory in the la rgest military operation in Europe 10 
since the end of World War II, and 11 
 WHEREAS, the unprovoked and baseless attack by the Armed 12 
Forces of the Russian Federation has resulted in hundreds of 13 
senseless deaths and thousands of injuries to innocent Ukrainian 14 
citizens, including young children, and 15 
 WHEREAS, over 500,000 civilians have been displaced and 16 
have needlessly suffered as a result of President Vladimir 17 
Putin's brutal aggression, and 18 
 WHEREAS, President Putin has issued a directive to increase 19 
the readiness of Russia's nuclear weapons, which could lead to a 20 
catastrophic nuclear war, and 21 
 WHEREAS, the Russian Federation's act of war against an 22 
independent and sovereign nation threatens peace not only in the 23 
region but across the entire international commun ity, NOW, 24

Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of 27 
Florida: 28 
 29 
 That the Florida House of Representatives formally condemns 30 
the invasion of Ukraine by President Putin and the Armed Forces 31 
of the Russian Federation and st ands in solidarity with the 32 
Ukrainian people in their right to freedom, democracy, and the 33 
ability to defend themselves against baseless and tyrannical 34 
hostility. 35
