2020 WHEREAS, the Holocaust, the state -sponsored, systematic 7

2424 WHEREAS, in addition, Roma (Gy psies) and Poles were 11
2525 targeted for decimation for racial, ethnic, or national reasons, 12
2626 and millions more, including persons with disabilities, 13
2727 homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, Soviet prisoners of war, and 14
2828 political dissidents, suffered grievous oppression and death 15

3030 WHEREAS, the history of the Holocaust offers an opportunity 17
3131 to reflect on the moral responsibilities of individuals, 18
3232 societies, and governments, particularly to remain vigilant 19
3333 against hatred, persecution, and tyranny, a nd 20
3434 WHEREAS, pursuant to an act of the United States Congress 21
3535 (Public Law No. 96-388, October 7, 1980), the United States 22
3636 Holocaust Memorial Council has designated Sunday, April 24, 23
