House Resolution 1 
A resolution designating the month of March 2022 as 2 
"Women's History Month" in the State of Florida. 3 
 4 
 WHEREAS, women have made countless historic contributions 5 
to the growth and strength of this state, and, throughout the 6 
history of this nation, have participated in the volunteer labor 7 
force and were vital in the establishment of early charitable, 8 
philanthropic, and cultural institutions, and 9 
 WHEREAS, as early leaders in the forefront of major 10 
progressive social movements, women of different races, classes, 11 
and ethnic backgrounds succeeded not only in securing their own 12 
right to suffrage and equal opportunity, but also in advancing 13 
the abolitionist, industrial la bor, civil rights, environmental 14 
justice, and peace movements, in addition to many other social 15 
justice campaigns, to create a more fair and just society for 16 
all, and 17 
 WHEREAS, in recognition of the contributions of women, the 18 
United States Congress has pa ssed a resolution each year since 19 
1987 designating March as "Women's History Month," and 20 
 WHEREAS, the month of March presents special opportunities 21 
to celebrate the wisdom and tenacity of generations of women and 22 
to acknowledge the courage, determination, and steadfastness 23 
needed to move history forward, NOW, THEREFORE, 24

Be It Resolved by the House of Representatives of the State of 26 
Florida: 27
