A resolution expressing support for the State of 2

WHEREAS, the State of Florida recognizes the right of the 5
State of Israel to exist as a sovereign and independent nation, 6
with the full rights and privileges afforded to all nations 7
under international law, and 8
WHEREAS, the State of Florida has had a longstanding 9
alliance with the State of Israel, which is founded on shared 10
democratic principles and commo n interests, and 11
WHEREAS, beginning on October 7, 2023, Hamas, a United 12
States-designated terrorist organization whose charter calls for 13
the destruction of the State of Israel, launched an attack on 14
the State of Israel which has resulted in more than 1,40 0 15
Israelis being murdered and more than 7,000 rockets being 16
launched into the State of Israel, and 17
WHEREAS, the State of Florida stands firmly in solidarity 18
with the State of Israel in its efforts to safeguard its 19
citizens, protect its borders, and ensure the safety and 20
security of its people, NOW, THEREFORE, 21

That the Florida House of Representatives reaffirms its 26
unwavering commitment to the partnership it shares with the 27
State of Israel. 28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Florida House of 29
Representatives stands in solidarity with the State of Israel 30
and condemns this unprovoked attack by Hamas against Israel and 31
its citizens and supports Israel's right to defend itself and 32
protect its citizens from indiscriminate violence and terrorism. 33
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Florida House of 34
Representatives unequivocally supports the right of the State of 35
Israel to exist as a sovereign and independent nation, with the 36
full recognition of its borders and territory. 37
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be 38
presented to the Governor of the State of Florida, the members 39
of the Florida Congressional delegation, and the Ambassador of 40
the State of Israel to the United States as a testament to the 41
enduring partnership between our states and the unwavering 42
support of the State of Florida for the State of Israel. 43
