61 | 61 | | (4)(a) The department shall issue a license by endorsement 36 |

62 | 62 | | to an applicant who the board certifies has met all of the 37 |
---|
63 | 63 | | following requiremen ts: 38 |

---|
65 | 65 | | nonrefundable application fee set by rule of the board . 40 |

66 | 66 | | 2. Holds a professional art therapist license in good 41 |
---|
67 | 67 | | standing, or its equivalent, issued by another state or 42 |
---|
68 | 68 | | jurisdiction, if the qualifica tions for licensure in such other 43 |
---|
69 | 69 | | state or jurisdiction are equal to or greater than those 44 |
---|
70 | 70 | | specified in subsection (2). 45 |
---|
71 | 71 | | 3. Has demonstrated, in a manner designated by rule of the 46 |
---|
72 | 72 | | board, knowledge of the laws and rules governing the practice of 47 |
---|
73 | 73 | | clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health 48 |
---|

94 | 94 | | (b) The department shall waive the requirements of 57 |
---|
95 | 95 | | subsection (2) and issue a professional art therapist license to 58 |
---|
96 | 96 | | an applicant who, before July 1, 2024, submits a completed 59 |
---|
97 | 97 | | application, pays a nonrefundable application fee set by rule of 60 |
---|
98 | 98 | | the board, and demonstrates to the board that he or she has met 61 |
---|
99 | 99 | | all of the following requirements: 62 |
---|
100 | 100 | | 1. Has passed the Art Therapy Credentials Board 63 |
---|
101 | 101 | | Examination offered by the Art Therapy Credentials Board, Inc., 64 |
---|
102 | 102 | | or an examination offered by any successor organization. 65 |
---|
103 | 103 | | 2. Has engaged in the practice of professional art therap y 66 |
---|
104 | 104 | | for at least 5 years, which may include up to 1 year of practice 67 |
---|
105 | 105 | | under supervision, as determined by rule of the board. 68 |
---|
106 | 106 | | 3. Has completed appropriate training, as determined by 69 |
---|
107 | 107 | | rule of the board, in the assessment, diagnosis, treatment, or 70 |
---|
108 | 108 | | resolution of mental, behavioral, and emotional disorders and 71 |
---|
109 | 109 | | dysfunctions as part of the approved course of study for his or 72 |

110 | 110 | | her master's or doctoral degree or following completion of such 73 |

135 | 135 | | satisfactory evidence that, in the period since the license was 86 |
---|
136 | 136 | | issued, the applicant has completed continuing education 87 |
---|
137 | 137 | | requirements, as determined by rule of the board or department. 88 |
---|
138 | 138 | | 2. The board or department shall require continuing 89 |
---|
139 | 139 | | education which must include, at a minimum, the continuing 90 |
---|
140 | 140 | | education requirements for maintaining national board 91 |
---|
141 | 141 | | certification in good standing with the Art Therapy Credentials 92 |
---|
142 | 142 | | Boards, Inc., or any successor organization. The board or 93 |
---|
143 | 143 | | department may not require mo re than 100 hours of continuing 94 |

145 | 145 | | (c) Continuing education providers, programs, and courses, 96 |
