certain procedure; requiring the department to adopt 5

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8

Section 1. Section 196.092, Florida Statutes, is created 10
to read: 11
196.092 Verification of eligibi lity for certain disabled 12
veterans and surviving spouses. —The Department of Revenue shall 13
establish a procedure by which a person may verify his or her 14
eligibility to receive an exemption or a discount under s. 15
196.081, s. 196.082, or s. 196.091 before the purchase of 16
property. The department shall adopt rules to administer this 17
section. 18
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023. 19
