Section 256.045, Florida Statutes, is created 10 to read: 11 256.045 Display of flags; governmental agencies, local 12 governments, or other units of local government. —A governmental 13 agency, local government, or other unit of local government may, 14 for exhibition or display, only expose the following flags to 15 public view: 16 (1) The state flag that meet s the protocol on flag display 17 adopted by the Governor pursuant to s. 256.015. 18 (2) The United States flag that meet s the requirements of 19 s. 256.11. 20 (3) The POW-MIA flag that meets the requirements of s. 21 256.12, s. 256.13, or s. 256.14. 22 (4) The official state Firefighter Memorial Flag at state -23 owned locations that meet s the requirements of s. 256.16. 24 (5) The state flag at public schools that meet s the 25 HB 1011 2023 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. hb1011-00 Page 2 of 2 F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S requirements of s. 256.032. 26 (6) The flag of the United Stat es and the state flag on 27 the grounds of each public postsecondary educational institution 28 and on every district school board building or grounds, and the 29 flag of the United States in each classroom of a public K -20 30 educational institution, that meet s the requirements of s. 31 1000.06. 32 33 No other flag may be exposed to public view for exhibition or 34 display, in any manner, by a governmental agency, local 35 government, or unit of local government. 36 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023. 37
