2727 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 14

2929 Section 1. Subsection (1) and paragraph (c) of su bsection 16
3030 (4) of section 327.4108, Florida Statutes, are amended to read: 17
3131 327.4108 Anchoring of vessels in anchoring limitation 18

3333 (1) The following densely populated urban areas, which 20
3434 have narrow state waterways, residential docking facilities, a nd 21
3535 significant recreational boating traffic, are designated as and 22
3636 shall be considered to be grandfathered -in anchoring limitation 23
3737 areas, within which, except as provided in subsections (4) and 24
3838 (5), a person may not anchor a vessel at any time during the 25

8888 (4) Notwithstanding subsections (1), (2), and (3), a 51
8989 person may anchor a vessel in an anch oring limitation area 52
9090 during a time that would otherwise be unlawful: 53
9191 (c) For the duration of During events described in s. 54

9393 public music performances, local government waterfront 56

9797 Section 2. Present subsection (5) of section 327.70, 60
9898 Florida Statutes, is redesignated as subsection (6), and a new 61
9999 subsection (5) is added to that section, to read: 62
100100 327.70 Enforcement of this chapter and chapter 328. — 63
101101 (5) When a law enforcement officer issues a citation to a 64
102102 vessel owner for a violation of this chapter, the law 65
103103 enforcement officer must conduct a national crim inal background 66
104104 check on the vessel owner. 67
105105 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2023. 68
