Florida Senate - 2023 CS for SB 1510 By the Committee on Criminal Justice; and Senator Pizzo 591-03153-23 20231510c1 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to visiting county and municipal 3 detention facilities; creating s. 951.225, F.S.; 4 authorizing specified persons to visit at their 5 pleasure county and municipal detention facilities; 6 providing an effective date. 7 8 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9 10 Section 1.Section 951.225, Florida Statutes, is created to 11 read: 12 951.225Persons authorized to visit county and municipal 13 detention facilities.The following persons who are elected or 14 appointed to serve the county or municipality in which the 15 county or municipal detention facility is located may visit such 16 facility at their pleasure: 17 (1)Members of the governing body of the county or 18 municipality. 19 (2)Members of the Legislature. 20 (3)State court judges. 21 (4)The state attorney. 22 (5)The public defender. 23 (6)The regional counsel. 24 Section 2.This act shall take effect July 1, 2023.
