57 | 57 | | the State Constitution. The provisions of s. 696.031, Florida 32 |
---|
58 | 58 | | Statutes, are created to protect real property owners from fraud 33 |

59 | 59 | | in real estate transactions by informing an owner that a 34 |
---|
60 | 60 | | contract for the sale or purchase of his or her real estate has 35 |
---|
61 | 61 | | been executed. Information required to be provided to the 36 |
---|
62 | 62 | | property appraiser pursuant to s. 696.031, Florida Statutes, is 37 |
---|
63 | 63 | | of a sensitive, personal nature, and disclosure of such 38 |
---|
64 | 64 | | information about property seller is an invasion of that 39 |
---|
65 | 65 | | person's privacy. Making public the private information of a 40 |
---|
66 | 66 | | property seller could have a chilling effect on real property 41 |
---|
67 | 67 | | sales. 42 |
---|
68 | 68 | | Section 3. This act shall take effect on the same date 43 |
---|
69 | 69 | | that HB 289 or other similar legislation takes effect, if such 44 |
---|
70 | 70 | | legislation is adopted in the same legislative session or an 45 |
---|
71 | 71 | | extension thereof and becomes law . 46 |
