24 | 24 | | 83.51 Landlord's obligation to maintai n premises.— 11 |
---|
25 | 25 | | (2)(a) Unless otherwise agreed in writing, in addition to 12 |

26 | 26 | | the requirements of subsection (1), the landlord of a dwelling 13 |
---|
27 | 27 | | unit other than a single -family home or duplex shall, at all 14 |
---|
28 | 28 | | times during the tenancy, make reasonable provisions for: 15 |
---|
29 | 29 | | 1. The extermination of rats, mice, roaches, ants, wood -16 |
---|
30 | 30 | | destroying organisms, and bedbugs. When vacation of the premises 17 |
---|
31 | 31 | | is required for such extermination, the landlord is not liable 18 |
---|
32 | 32 | | for damages but shall abate the rent. The tenant must 19 |
---|
33 | 33 | | temporarily vacate the premises for a period of time not to 20 |
---|
34 | 34 | | exceed 4 days, on 7 days' written notice, if necessary, for 21 |
---|
35 | 35 | | extermination pursuant to this subparagraph. 22 |
