22	22	Be It Enacted by the Legislature of t he State of Florida: 11

24	24	Section 1. Section 1 of chapter 98 -461, Laws of Florida, 13
25	25	is amended to read: 14
26	26	Section 1. Continuation of a mosquito control district. —15
27	27	There is hereby provided for the continuation of the Lee County 16
28	28	Mosquito Control District, an independent special district, the 17
29	29	boundaries of which shall include all territory of Lee County . 18

118	118	County Mosquito Control District. All assets and liabilities of 77
119	119	the Fort Myers Beach Mosquito Control District as of that date 78
120	120	shall be transferred to the Lee County Mosquito Control 79

122	122	Section 4. Referendum.— 81
123	123	(1) The referendum electi on called for by this act shall 82
124	124	be held on November 5, 2024, concurrent with the 2024 general 83
125	125	election. 84
126	126	(2) The ballot title for the referendum question shall be 85
127	127	in substantially the following form: 86
128	128	REVISING BOUNDARIES OF LEE COUNTY MOSQUITO CONTROL 87
129	129	DISTRICT TO INCLUDE ALL OF LEE COUNTY 88
130	130	(3) The referendum question shall be placed on the ballot 89

132	132	Shall Chapter 2024- , Laws of Florida, amending the 91
133	133	boundaries of the Lee County Mosquito Control District 92
134	134	to include all of Lee County, abolishing the Fort 93
135	135	Myers Beach Mosquito Control District, and 94
136	136	transferring the assets and liabilities of the Fort 95
137	137	Myers Beach Mosquito Control District to the Lee 96
138	138	County Mosquito Control District, become effective? 97

152	152	by a majority of the qualified voters voting in the referendum, 101
153	153	this act shall take effect. The referendum election shall be 102
154	154	conducted by the Supervisor of Elections of Lee County in 103
155	155	accordance with the Florida Election Code. 104
156	156	Section 5. This act shall take effect only upon its 105
157	157	approval by a majority vote of those qualified electors of Lee 106
158	158	County voting in a referendum conducted in accordance with the 107
159	159	provisions of law relating to elections curren tly in force, 108
160	160	except that this section and section 4 shall take effect upon 109
161	161	becoming a law. 110
