colleges and universities in the state; requiring 6
reversion of unexpended funds; providing for future 7
appropriation; providing an effective date. 8

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florid a: 10

Section 1. For the 2024-2025 fiscal year, the nonrecurring 12
sum of $25 million from the General Revenue Fund is appropriated 13
to the Department of Education to provide grants to each public 14
and private historically black college and university in the 15
state for increased security measures. Grants must be awarded no 16
later than August 1, 2024. The unexpended balance of funds 17
appropriated to the department as of June 30, 2025, shall revert 18
and is appropriated to the department for the same purpose for 19
the 2025-2026 fiscal year. 20
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2024. 21
