Florida Senate - 2024 SB 1516 By Senator Torres 25-01520A-24 20241516__ 1 A bill to be entitled 2 An act relating to documentation status for health 3 care services; providing that certain licensed not 4 for-profit corporations and organizations are not 5 required to request the citizenship, residency, alien, 6 or immigration status of any patient; providing an 7 effective date. 8 9 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 10 11 Section 1.Notwithstanding any other law to the contrary, a 12 licensed not-for-profit corporation or organization that 13 delivers free health care services to the public may not be 14 required to request, either orally or in writing, the 15 citizenship, residency, alien, or immigration status of any 16 patient. 17 Section 2.This act shall take effect July 1, 2024.
