2828 Section 1. Paragraph (d) of subsection (4) of section 15

548548 3. An agency that is the custodian of the information 367
549549 specified in subparagraph 2. and that is not the employer of the 368

650650 can request the county recorder to release a protected 433
651651 decedent's removed information unless there i s a related request 434
652652 on file with the county recorder for continued removal of the 435
653653 decedent's information or unless such removal is otherwise 436
654654 prohibited by statute or by court order. The written request to 437
655655 release the removed information upon the death of a protected 438
656656 party must attach the certified copy of a death certificate or 439
657657 court order and must be notarized, must confirm the request for 440
658658 release is due to the death of a protected party, and must 441

663663 Section 2. The Legislature finds that it is a public 446
664664 necessity that the ho me addresses, telephone numbers, dates of 447
665665 birth, and photographs of current and former medical examiners; 448
666666 the names, home addresses, telephone numbers, dates of birth, 449

682682 children of such current and former medical examiners be made 453
683683 exempt from s. 119.07(1), Florida Statutes, and s. 24(a), 454
684684 Article I of the State Constitution. The Legis lature finds that 455
685685 the release of such personal identifying and location 456
686686 information poses potential security risks for and allows 457
687687 unwarranted intrusion into the private lives of such current and 458
688688 former medical examiners and their family members. Public 459
689689 availability of such personal identifying and location 460
690690 information may compromise the ability of such current and 461
691691 former medical examiners to carry out their public duties and 462
692692 may disrupt the operation of the medical examiners' offices. The 463
693693 exemption of such personal identifying and location information 464
694694 from public records requirements is necessary to protect the 465
695695 personal privacy and safety of these public servants and their 466
696696 families. The Legislature finds that the harm that may result 467
697697 from the release of such personal identifying and location 468
698698 information outweighs any public benefit that may be derived 469
699699 from the disclosure of the information. 470
700700 Section 3. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. 471
