2222 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

2424 Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 196 .1975, Florida 11
2525 Statutes, is amended to read: 12
2626 196.1975 Exemption for property used by nonprofit homes 13
2727 for the aged.—Nonprofit homes for the aged are exempt to the 14
2828 extent that they meet the following criteria: 15
2929 (1) The applicant must be a corporation not for profit 16
3030 under pursuant to chapter 617 or a Florida limited partnership, 17
3131 the sole general partner of which is either a corporation not 18
3232 for profit under pursuant to chapter 617 or an entity not 19
3333 licensed under chapter 429 which is wholly owned by a 20
3434 corporation not for profit under chapter 617 , and the 21
3535 corporation not for profit must have been exempt as of January 1 22
3636 of the year for which exemption from ad valorem property taxes 23
3737 is requested from federal income taxation by having qualified as 24
3838 an exempt charitable organization under the provisions of s. 25

5454 Section 2. The amendments made by this act to s. 29
