An act relating to database of animal cruelty 2
violators; amending s. 828.12, F.S.; requiring the 3
Department of Law Enforcement to post on its website 4
the names of certain individuals who have violated 5
specified animal cruelty provisions; providing an 6
effective date. 7

Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

Section 1. Subsection (7) is added to section 828.12, 11
Florida Statutes, to read: 12
828.12 Cruelty to animals. — 13
(7) Beginning January 1, 2026, the Department of Law 14
Enforcement shall post on its website, in a searchable format 15
prescribed by the department, the names of those individuals who 16
have been convicted of, or who have entered a plea of guilty or 17
nolo contendere to, regardless of adjudication, a violation of 18
this section. 19
Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025. 20
