2222 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

2424 Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 316.061, Florida 11
2525 Statutes, is amended to read: 12
2626 316.061 Crashes involving damage to vehicle or property. — 13
2727 (1) The driver of any vehicle involved in a crash 14
2828 resulting only in damage to a vehicle or other property which is 15
2929 driven or attended by any person shall immediately stop such 16
3030 vehicle at the scene of such crash or as close thereto as 17
3131 possible, and shall forthwith return to, and in every event 18
3232 shall remain at, the scene of the crash until he or she has 19
3333 fulfilled the requirements of s. 316.062. A person who violates 20
3434 this subsection commits a misdemeanor of the second degree, 21
3535 punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083. The court 22
3636 may order a driver convicted of a violation of this section, who 23
3737 caused or otherwise contributed to the crash, to make 24
3838 restitution to the owner of a vehicle or other property damaged 25

5151 in the crash for any damage that was caused by the driver's 26
5252 vehicle. Notwithstanding any other provision of this section, $5 27
5353 shall be added to a fine imposed pursuant to this section, which 28
5454 $5 shall be deposited in the Emergency M edical Services Trust 29

5656 Section 2. This act shall take effect October 1, 2025. 31
