2222 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

2424 Section 1. Section 542.336, Florida Statutes, is amended 11
2525 to read: 12
2626 542.336 Invalid restrictive covenants. —A restrictive 13
2727 covenant entered into with a physician who is licensed under 14
2828 chapter 458 or chapter 459 which prohibits a physician from 15
2929 practicing medicine within a geographic area for any period of 16
3030 time after the termination of a contract, partnership, 17
3131 employment, or professional relationship and who practices a 18
3232 medical specialty in a county wherein one entity employs or 19
3333 contracts with, either directly or through related or affiliated 20
3434 entities, all physicians who practice such specialty in that 21
3535 county is not supported by a legitimate business interest. The 22
3636 Legislature finds that such covenants restrict patient access to 23
3737 physicians, increase costs, and are v oid and unenforceable under 24
3838 current law. Such restrictive covenants are shall remain void 25
