25-Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 12

27- Section 1. Section 790.34, Florida Statutes, is created to 14
28-read: 15
29- 790.34 Prohibited use of artificial intelligence to detect 16
30-concealed firearms.— 17
31- (1) As used in this section, the term : 18
32- (a) "Governmental agency" means any state, county, local, 19
33-or municipal governmental entity or any unit of local government 20
34-created or established by law. 21
35- (b) "Public place" has the same meaning as in s. 876.11. 22
36- (2) Except as provided in subsection (3), a governmental 23
37-agency may not use, or contract with any other entity to use, 24
38-artificial intelligence in conjunction with any camera, video 25

18+detect firearms in public areas; providing criminal 5
19+penalties; providing exceptions; providing an 6

22+Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 9

24+ Section 1. Section 790.34, Florida Statutes, is created to 11

26+ 790.34 Prohibited use of artificial intelligence to detect 13
27+firearms in public areas; penalties; exceptions. 14
28+ (1) Artificial intelligence may not be used, including, 15
29+but not limited to, in conjunction with any camera, video 16
30+recording, or live-streaming device, to detec t firearms in 17
31+public areas. 18
32+ (2) A person who violates this section commits a 19
33+misdemeanor of the first degree, punishable as provided in s. 20
34+775.082 or s. 775.083. 21
35+ (3) This section does not apply to: 22
36+ (a) The grounds or facilities of a school as defined in s. 23
37+790.115. 24
38+ (b) Any location listed in s. 790.06(12)(a). 25

53- (3) This section does not prohibit a governmental agency 28
54-from using artificial intelligence, or contracting with any 29
55-other entity to use artificial intelligence, to detect concealed 30
56-firearms: 31
57- (a) On the grounds or facilities of a school as defined in 32
58-s. 790.115(2)(a). 33
59- (b) At any location listed in s. 790.06(12)(a). 34
60- (4) An aggrieved party may seek injunctive relief against 35
61-a governmental agency or other entity under contract with a 36
62-governmental agency to prevent or remedy a violation of this 37
63-section. 38
64- Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025. 39
