2121 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 8

2323 Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (1) of section 10
2424 893.05, Florida Statutes, is amended to read: 11
2525 893.05 Practitioners and persons administering controlled 12
2626 substances in their absence. — 13
2727 (1)(a) A practitioner, in good faith and in the course of 14
2828 his or her professional practice only, may prescribe, 15
2929 administer, dispense, mix, or otherwise prepare a controlled 16
3030 substance, or the practitioner may cause the controlled 17
31-substance to be administered , under his or her direction and 18
32-supervision only, by a certified paramedic in the course of 19
33-providing emergency services, by a licensed nurse, or an intern 20
34-practitioner under his or her direction and supervision only . 21
35- Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law. 22
