3131 Section 1. Statewide Study on Automation and Workforce 18

3333 (1) As used in this section, the term "artificial 20
3434 intelligence" or "AI" means a machine -based system that can, for 21
3535 a given set of human -defined objectives, make predictions, 22
3636 recommendations, or decisions influencing real or virtual 23
3737 environments. An artificial intelligence system uses machine and 24

6565 (b) Geographic regions within the state most vulnerable to 40

6767 (c) Demographics of workers that are most at risk. 42
6868 (d) Impact on wages and job quality in key job sectors. 43
6969 (e) Economic benefits, including productivity gro wth and 44

7373 (g) Policy recommendations for workforce resilience, 48

8989 (4) The bureau may consult with: 52
9090 (a) Business and industry representatives. 53
9191 (b) Academic institutions with labor economics expertise. 54
9292 (c) Local economic councils and chambers of commerce. 55
9393 (d) Any groups the bureau deems necessary to complete the 56

9595 (5) The bureau must submit to the Governor, the President 58
9696 of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives a 59
9797 report of its findings and recommendations by December 1, 2025, 60
9898 and every 3 years thereafter pursuant to subsection (6). 61
9999 (6) The bureau must conduct the study every 3 years to 62
100100 assess automation's impact on the workforce and to update its 63

102102 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025. 65
