Section 1002.205, Florida Statutes, is amended 13 to read: 14 1002.205 Guidelines on religious expression; 15 distribution.—The Department of Education shall each year 16 distribute for infor mational purposes to all district school 17 board members, district school superintendents, school 18 principals, and teachers the entire "Guidance guidelines on 19 Constitutionally Protected Prayer and "Religious Expression in 20 Public Elementary and Secondary Schools" published by the United 21 States Department of Education, as updated from time to time , 22 and the model policy required by the Florida Student and School 23 Personnel Religious Liberties Act in s. 1002.206(6) . 24 Section 2. Subsection (4) of section 1003.44, Florida 25 CS/HB 1009 2025 CODING: Words stricken are deletions; words underlined are additions. hb1009-01-c1 Page 2 of 2 F L O R I D A H O U S E O F R E P R E S E N T A T I V E S Statutes, is amended to read: 26 1003.44 Patriotic programs; rules. — 27 (4) Each district school board shall adopt rules to 28 require, in all of the schools of the district and in each 29 building used by the district school board, the display of the 30 state motto, "In God We Trust," designated under s. 15.0301, in 31 a clearly visible location and public area of the school which 32 is readily accessible to and widely used by students and in a 33 clearly visible location and public area of each building used 34 by the district school board conspicuous place. 35 Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2025. 36
