2525 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 12

2727 Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 765.514, Florida 14
2828 Statutes, is amended to read: 15
2929 765.514 Manner of making anatomical gifts .— 16
3030 (1) A person, or a minor under 18 years of age with 17
3131 informed parental consent, may make an anatomical gift of all or 18
3232 part of his or her body under s. 765.512(1) by: 19
3333 (a) Signing an organ and tissue donor card. The department 20
3434 shall, at the time of sig nature: 21
3535 1. Provide education regarding organ and tissue donation 22
3636 options and methods of making changes to the election. 23
3737 2. Collect informed consent from the donor. 24

6868 will. The document must be signed by the donor in the presence 43
6969 of two witnesses who shall sign the document in the donor's 44
7070 presence. If the donor cannot sign, the document may be signed 45
7171 for him or her at the donor's direction and in his or her 46
7272 presence and the presence of two witnesses who must sign the 47

137137 means to protect the integrity of the data in the registry. 88
138138 (b) A continuing program to educate and inform medical 89
139139 professionals, law enforcement agencies and officers, other 90
140140 state and local government employees, high school students, 91
141141 minorities, and the public about the laws of this state relating 92
142142 to anatomical gifts and the need for anatomical gifts. 93
143143 1. Existing community resources, when available, must be 94
144144 used to support the program and volunteers may assist the 95
145145 program to the maximum extent possible. 96
146146 2. The contractor shall coordinat e with the head of a 97
147147 state agency or other political subdivision of the state, or his 98
148148 or her designee, to establish convenient times, dates, and 99
149149 locations for educating that entity's employees. 100
