2525 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: 12

2727 Section 1. Paragraph (e) of subsection (2) of section 14
2828 627.711, Florida Statutes, as amended by HB 1429 or similar 15
2929 legislation, 2025 Regular Session, is redesignated as paragraph 16

5353 2. This paragraph is subject to the Open Government Sunset 28
5454 Review Act in accordance with s. 119.15 and shall stand repealed 29
5555 on October 2, 2030, unless reviewed and saved from repeal 30
5656 through reenactment by the Legislature. 31
5757 Section 2. The Legislature finds that it is a public 32
5858 necessity that a statewide uniform mitigation verification 33
5959 inspection form submitted electronically, which reveals the 34
6060 policyholder's name, identity, telephone number, e -mail address, 35
6161 insurance company, and insurance policy number be confidential 36
6262 and exempt from s. 119.07(1), Florida Statutes, and s. 24(a), 37
6363 Article I of the State Constitution. Uniform mitigation 38
6464 verification inspection forms reveal critical personal 39
6565 identifying information regarding policyholders and, in 40
6666 aggregate, can be used to identify information claimed as a 41
6767 trade secret pursuant to s. 624.4213, Florida Statutes. 42
6868 Disclosing identifying information contained in uniform 43
6969 mitigation verification inspection forms significantly 44
7070 undermines the privacy of policyholders and can result in the 45
7171 release of otherwise exempt trade secret information protections 46
7272 claimed by insurers. Pervasive use of the Internet and related 47
7373 technologies abet those with malicious purposes in exploiting 48
7474 the use of personal identifying information within uniform 49

9292 Furthermore, the public disclosure of such information could 55
9393 hinder the effective and efficient administration of the 56
9494 database. Therefore, the Legislature finds that it is a public 57
9595 necessity to make ex empt from public records requirements 58
9696 identifying information contained in the uniform mitigation 59
9797 verification inspection form electronic submissions. 60
9898 Section 3. This act shall take effect on the same date 61
9999 that HB 1429 or similar legislation takes effe ct, if such 62
100100 legislation is adopted in the same legislative session or an 63
101101 extension thereof and becomes a law. 64
