A RESOLUTION
Honoring the life and memory of Dorian James Beard; and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2
with the passing of Dorian James Beard on November 25, 2023; and3
WHEREAS, Dorian James Beard was born on November 9, 1982, a beloved son of Shirelle4
Mitchell and Daniel Beard; and5
WHEREAS, during his early years, he distinguished himself as an outstanding6
student-athlete who excelled academically and performed remarkably in various sports,7
including football, wrestling, baseball, and track and field; and8
WHEREAS, he further stood out as a nose guard on the Penn Hills football team and earned9
a scholarship to Akron University, where he played as a starter for all four years and10
graduated with a bachelor's degree in communications; and11
WHEREAS, Dorian enjoyed eight years of wonderful vacations and family time with his12
fiancé, Tamara Gaither, and was the devoted father of three remarkable children, Kendall,13
Kameron, and Kensley; and14

WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern

for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his16
family and friends were admired by others; and17
WHEREAS, Dorian was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable18
reputation for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of19
his life, he made this world a better place in which to live; and20
WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Dorian will long be remembered for his21
love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great22
fortune of knowing him.23
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24
the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Dorian James Beard and25
express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.26
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the28
family of Dorian James Beard.29
