66 Honoring the life and memory of Rose Ida Lubin; and for other purposes.

88 WHEREAS, Sergeant Rose Ida Lubin, known to her family and friends as "Rosie," was born2
99 December 1, 2002, to David and Robin Lubin and grew up the oldest of five siblings in3
1010 Dunwoody, Georgia; and4
1111 WHEREAS, Rose was an exceptional student throughout her life and an accomplished5
1212 wrestler, flag football player, cheerleader, dancer, singer, and more at Dunwoody High6
1313 School; and7
1414 WHEREAS, following her deep and abiding faith and connection to the Jewish people, Rose8
1515 made Aliyah, the return to Israel afforded to all Jews, after graduating high school in 2021;9

1717 WHEREAS, in March 2022, Rose enlisted in the Israel Defense Forces, where she became11
1818 a combat-trained soldier specializing in terrorism, and was deployed with the Israeli Border12

2222 WHEREAS, on October 7, 2023, an off-duty Sergeant Lubin bravely defended her host

2424 Kibbutz and neighboring communities near the Gaza border from a brutal terrorist attack and15
2525 helped get injured victims to safety; and16
2626 WHEREAS, just weeks after the Hamas onslaught, Sergeant Lubin's young life was taken17
2727 much too soon by another terrorist attack near Herod's Gate, one of the entrances to the Old18
2828 City of Jerusalem, where she was stationed; and19
2929 WHEREAS, Sergeant Lubin was an exceptional daughter, step daughter, sibling,20
3030 granddaughter, niece, cousin, student, and friend who was admired and loved by everyone21
3131 who knew her; and22
3232 WHEREAS, Sergeant Lubin gave her life protecting and defending the Jewish people and23
3333 all Israeli citizens from terrorism; and24
3434 WHEREAS, Sergeant Lubin's sacrifice and memory serves as a reminder of the urgent need25
3535 for peace to prevail in Israel and the surrounding region, where future generations can live26
3636 without the threat of constant conflict. 27
3737 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body28
3838 honor the life and memory of Sergeant Rose Lubin and extend the deepest and most sincere29
3939 regret at her passing.30
4040 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed31
4141 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the family of32
4242 Sergeant Rose Lubin.33
