1010 To amend Chapter 5 of Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to

1212 government transparency and campaign finance, so as to prohibit foreign nationals from2
1313 contributing to candidates or campaign, independent, or political action committees; to3
1414 prohibit candidates and campaign, independent, and political action committees from4
1515 accepting contributions from foreign nationals; to provide exemptions for contributions made5
1616 by members of a candidate's immediate family; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other6
1717 purposes.7
1818 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:8
1919 SECTION 1.9
2020 Chapter 5 of Title 21 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to government10
2121 transparency and campaign finance, is amended by revising Code Section 21-5-31, which is11
2222 reserved, as follows:12
2323 "21-5-31.13
2424 (a) No foreign national shall make a contribution to a candidate, campaign committee,

2626 independent committee, or political action committee.15

2929 (b) No candidate, campaign committee, independent committee, or political action16
3030 committee shall knowingly accept any contributions from foreign nationals.17
3131 (c) Nothing in this Code section shall prohibit a foreign national from making a18
3232 contribution to a candidate, or the campaign committee of a candidate, if such candidate19
3333 is the spouse, child, sibling, or parent of such foreign national, nor shall a candidate or his20
3434 or her campaign committee be prohibited from accepting contributions made by a foreign21
3535 national who is the spouse, child, sibling, or parent of such candidate Reserved."22
3636 SECTION 2.23
3737 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.24
