99 AN ACT
1010 To amend Code Section 47-2-101 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to

1212 creditable service in the Employees' Retirement System of Georgia for prior service as2
1313 member of the Georgia Defined Contribution Plan, so as to allow for the purchase of up to3
1414 18 months of creditable service in such retirement system based upon certain creditable4
1515 service in such plan; to provide for related matters; to provide conditions for an effective date5
1616 and automatic repeal; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other purposes.6
1717 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:7
1818 SECTION 1.8
1919 Code Section 47-2-101 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to creditable9
2020 service in the Employees Retirement System of Georgia for prior service as member of the10
2121 Georgia Defined Contribution Plan, is amended by revising subsection (a) as follows:11
2222 "(a) A member who was a member of the Georgia Defined Contribution Plan created by12
2323 Chapter 22 of this title immediately prior to becoming a member of this retirement system13
2424 shall be entitled to obtain creditable service in this retirement system for all such prior14
2525 service with such Georgia Defined Contribution Plan employer, as well as up to 18 months

3030 Plan employer that was noncontiguous with his or her period of employment immediately17
3131 prior to becoming a member of this retirement system."18
3232 SECTION 2.19
3333 This Act shall become effective on July 1, 2024, only if it is determined to have been20
3434 concurrently funded as provided in Chapter 20 of Title 47 of the Official Code of Georgia21
3535 Annotated, the "Public Retirement Systems Standards Law"; otherwise, this Act shall not22
3636 become effective and shall be automatically repealed in its entirety on July 1, 2024, as23
3737 required by subsection (a) of Code Section 47-20-50.24
3838 SECTION 3.25
3939 All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.26
