A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT
To amend Chapter 7 of Title 44 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to1
landlord and tenant, so as to repeal the prohibition on local governments regulating the2
amount of rent to be charged for privately owned, single-family or multiple-unit residential3
rental property; to provide for related matters; to repeal conflicting laws; and for other4
purposes.5
BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF GEORGIA:6
SECTION 1.7
Chapter 7 of Title 44 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, relating to landlord and8
tenant, is amended by repealing Code Section 44-7-19, relating to restrictions on rent9
regulation by local governments, and designating said Code section as reserved.10
SECTION 2.11
All laws and parts of laws in conflict with this Act are repealed.12
