A RESOLUTION
Congratulating and commending Lana Copeland Hardy for receiving the 2024 Yellow Rose

Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, in 1999, Representative Nikki T. Randall became the first African American3
female elected to the General Assembly from middle Georgia, and over her 17 years of4
service as a legislator, she held numerous leadership positions, including chair of the Georgia5
Legislative Women's Caucus; and6
WHEREAS, every year during Women's History Month, the Georgia Legislative Women's7
Caucus recognizes outstanding women in Georgia who exemplify the leadership and8
inspiration embodied by Representative Randall; and9
WHEREAS, Lana Copeland Hardy's impressive career in health care spans decades of10
service to individuals with developmental disabilities and families in crisis, including her11
distinguished tenure at the Atlanta Alliance on Developmental Disabilities; and12
WHEREAS, as a result of her expertise and experience, she has been appointed to numerous13
associations, councils, and committees, such as the Georgia Child Care Council, the Parent14

to Parent of Georgia Board of Directors, the Safety Net Task Force for Behavioral Health

Care, and many more; and16
WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high17
ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom18
which only comes through experience and the strength of character which is achieved19
through overcoming the many challenges of life; and20
WHEREAS, Lana Copeland Hardy is a woman of unassuming greatness whose humble acts21
of kindness and generosity have greatly uplifted her community; and22
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this23
extraordinary servant leader be appropriately recognized.24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25
the members of this body congratulate and commend Lana Copeland Hardy for receiving the26
2024 Yellow Rose Nikki T. Randall Servant Leader Award and extend best wishes for her27
continued success.28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Lana30
Copeland Hardy.31
