A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Grayson High School Chamber Orchestra; and for other

purposes.2
WHEREAS, the Grayson High School Chamber Orchestra consists of the top 30 students3
from the 250 member Grayson High School Orchestra program; and4
WHEREAS, chamber orchestra members are high-achieving students from a wide variety5
of racial, ethnic, religious, and socioeconomic backgrounds; and6
WHEREAS, the chamber orchestra consistently has members ranked in the top ten of the7
graduating class and currently has alumni at the top colleges and universities in the United8
States; and9
WHEREAS, the chamber orchestra represents Grayson and Gwinnett County Public Schools10
across the metropolitan area through its extensive calendar of over 20 performances each11
school year; and12

WHEREAS, the calendar includes playing for Atlanta institutions such as The High Museum

of Art and Oakland Cemetery, as well at as community events such as Christmas in Grayson;14
and15
WHEREAS, the chamber orchestra has blossomed to include a multitude of musical styles16
so that each concert can have a tailored play list; and17
WHEREAS, its repertoire has spanned 500 years to include music from Baroque to new18
music by living composers; and19
WHEREAS, the chamber orchestra has long been recognized for the musical talent of each20
of its members and the outstanding musical direction and leadership of its directors, Ashley21
Yoo and Huijeong Lee; and22
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the teamwork, dedication, and23
achievements of this talented and hardworking group of young men and women be24
recognized appropriately.25
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26
the members of this body recognize and commend the Grayson High School Chamber27
Orchestra for its many contributions to the community and the State of Georgia.28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the30
Grayson High School Chamber Orchestra.31
