A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending Umu Igbo Unite (UIU); and for other purposes.

WHEREAS, Umu Igbo Unite (UIU) is a leading organization committed to fostering unity2
and celebrating the rich Igbo cultural heritage; and3
WHEREAS, it has announced that the highly anticipated 20th annual convention is returning4
to its founding city, Atlanta; and5
WHEREAS, since its inception in 2005 in Atlanta, UIU has been pivotal in empowering6
young Igbo professionals, preserving cultural traditions, and building intergenerational7
connections; and8
WHEREAS, this year's convention marks a significant milestone, reflecting UIU's lasting9
legacy and its members' steadfast dedication globally; and10
WHEREAS, the convention will feature a diverse array of engaging activities and11
experiences, including educational workshops and seminars on topics ranging from12
entrepreneurship and leadership to Igbo language and history, offering attendees valuable13
insights and opportunities for personal and professional growth; and14

WHEREAS, the convention will also showcase the vibrant tapestry of Igbo culture through
15
traditional music, dance, fashion, and culinary delights, celebrating the richness and diversity16
of Igbo heritage; and17
WHEREAS, the convention will have networking opportunities that will allow attendees to18
connect with fellow Igbo professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders from across19
the globe, fostering meaningful relationships and collaborations that transcend borders; and20
WHEREAS, UIU is a nonprofit organization that promotes cultural preservation and21
appreciation, professional development, entrepreneurship, and civic engagement among22
Igbos in the diaspora and since its inception, UIU has grown to more than 5,000 members23
nationwide with 16 active chapters; and24
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this25
remarkable and distinguished organization be appropriately recognized.26
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27
the members of this body recognize and commend Umu Igbo Unite (UIU) and thank it for28
its efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated service.29
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Umu31
Igbo Unite (UIU).32
