24 LC 128 0405 House Resolution 1567 By: Representative Ballard of the 147 th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Matthew Christopher "Matt" Littlefield; and for other 1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens3 with the passing of Matthew Christopher "Matt" Littlefield on March 2, 2024; and4 WHEREAS, Matthew Christopher "Matt" Littlefield was born on May 16, 1985, the beloved5 son of Byron Willis "Mickey" Littlefield and Margaret Williamson Littlefield; and6 WHEREAS, he attended Sandy Creek High School where he was a receiver on Sandy7 Creek's standout football team; and8 WHEREAS, he graduated from the University of Georgia; and9 WHEREAS, he forged deep bonds with his family and friends and was so well liked that he10 served as a groomsman 19 times and was known as Uncle Matt to dozens of children of11 friends; and12 H. R. 1567 - 1 - 24 LC 128 0405 WHEREAS, he proudly served as a registered lobbyist at the Georgia state capitol where he 13 also built lasting friendships; and14 WHEREAS, his career as a lobbyist led him to work on major political campaigns, including15 those of Herschel Walker's Senate campaign and Tyler Harper's campaign for Agriculture16 Commissioner; and17 WHEREAS, he was immensely proud of his family, sisters Susan-Elizabeth and Victoria,18 beloved brother-in-law Philip, niece Mickey-Reese, and nephew Parker; and19 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern20 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his21 family and friends were admired by others; and22 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation23 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he24 made this world a better place in which to live; and25 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, he will long be remembered for his love26 of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great fortune of27 knowing him.28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that29 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Matthew Christopher30 "Matt" Littlefield and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.31 H.
